She is a native of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, graduating from Colleyville Heritage High School in 2000 - lettering in four varsity sports, and helping lead the CHHS girls' basketball program to its first playoff appearance in 1999. She was also a member of the 1997 state champion volleyball team in Virginia.  

 

Upon her graduation from Abilene Christian University with a bachelor¹s degree in Social Work in 2004, Wallace worked with an urban ministry and alternative high school in Portland, Oregon. This experience cemented her desire to pursue a career in education and combine her love for young people, sports, and the classroom. In pursuit of this goal, she attended and earned her Master's degree in Education from Texas A&M University in 2010.

Her aim and desire is to spend her days being used to do "small things, with great love" for all those she encounters...and encouraging and equipping a younger generation to do the same!

ABOUT TEACHER!

Passionate about mentoring and impacting the lives of young adults, Coach Emily Wallace strives to teach and live out her favorite quote by Mother Teresa: "We can do no great things, only small things with great love!" Her greatest desire as a teacher and coach is to equip young women and men to be people of excellent character who spend their lives doing "SMALL THINGS, with GREAT LOVE!"

Wallace is entering her seventh year at Marcus High School and her ninth year of teaching and coaching.  At Marcus High School, Wallace taught English II for three years, was a finalist for the Marcus High School "Teacher of the Year" award during the 2012-'13 year and contributed as a member of the LISD English II Curriculum Design team.

She joined the MHS9 staff in the fall of 2014 as the Marcus AVID Site Coordinator and AVID elective course teacher and was honored as the MHS9 Teacher of the Year for the 2014-15 school year. She leads the MHS AVID site team, helps sponsor the "Young & Purposed" club, and also facilitates the AVID club.
